Twenty Girls at Our First NextWave Session
On Saturday 26th September, 20 girls joined us at Winchester College for NextWave Aquatics’ first official girls-only water polo session. Five were new to water polo, which made it especially lovely to see them getting involved alongside girls who had played before.
We were joined by guest coach Kathy Rogers, who helped the girls develop their skills and enjoy their time in the pool. Caroline Nokes MP also visited to see the session and hear why we are creating more opportunities for girls to stay involved in sport.
It took a lot of help to get this first session off the ground. Thank you to our coaches and volunteers, the staff at Winchester College, and every parent who brought their daughter along. Most of all, thank you to the girls for giving it a go.
This was only our first session. We have more training, open sessions and games planned for girls of different ages and experience levels, and we look forward to welcoming more girls to NextWave.
